Q1.What are the psychic hours?
The psychic hours are considered by many to be between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. This is a time of heightened preternatural activity due to the absence of natural light.
Q2.What does the environmental factors have to do with ghosts?
We believe that the atmosphere around us that affects our own environment, also affects the environment of the spirit world. We will discuss the effects of the environmental factors we have posted on this site separately.
Solar X-Rays: Without getting too technical, solar x-rays are caused when a solar flare is ejected from the sun, and crashes back to its surface. It can be compared to dropping a rock into a pond. It makes a splash and then ripples move outward. The same thing happens when a solar flare comes back to the sun’s surface. Only the “ripples” are solar x-rays and other radiation that is forced outward towards Earth at the speed of light. This energy is then reflected by our atmosphere, but not without disturbing the atmosphere itself.
Geomagnetic Storm: This is how solar x-rays are tied in. A geomagnetic storm is when charged particles from the sun (also called solar wind) bombards the Earth. These “winds” have an affect on all types of magnetic fields, and can even interfere with radio transmission. In fact, HAM radio operators often use these events to plot times to communicate. We know from research that the presence of spirits often emit (or at least disturb) an electro magnetic field that we can detect with a Gauss meter. (A guess meter measures electro magnetic fields) It is a popular theory that if spirits produce electro magnetic energy, than Solar Weather may affect their environment. This is why we believe spirit activity seems to increase during certain types of Solar Weather. So be on the lookout for Geomagnetic storms.
Moon: This is another factor to consider in magnetic fields, and seems to have an odd affect on humans. The moon’s position has an affect on magnetic fields, that even controls our ocean’s tides. We feel that a full moon is great condition for spirit activity. Why? Who knows for sure, but if you ask your local Emergency Room nurse or Doctor, they will tell you they have the most patients during a full moon. Just look at the drivers out on a full moon. If this can effect humans, it seems to certainly effect spirits too.
Q3.Is it possible for ghosts to follow you, call out your name, and touch you?
Yes, it is entirely possible for a spirit to attempt to communicate that way. It is possible, but unlikely, that a spirit will follow you from a haunted location. More commonly, it is a spirit of someone who knew you, and is attempting to make some sort of contact with you. Often a spirit will try to communicate the only way it knows how, whether it is touching, speaking, or moving objects it will try to make its presence known. While the spirit may mean well, it usually just succeeds in scaring the people involved.
Q4.You have some cemetery photos posted and you give the name of the cemetery, but where are they located? What city and state?
We have too many cemeteries to list the locations here, but most are from all corners of Connecticut. We also try to keep the locations confidential, due to the increased vandalism in our area. Unfortunately, good paranormal investigators have to suffer from stricter laws, and our presence at many of the locations now would result in a stiff fine and a court date. It’s a shame we all have to suffer for the actions of a few, but they are ruining our historic cemeteries, so I don’t blame the authorities.
Q5.Can you tell me the significance of different shaped orbs? Different colors?
While we aren’t exactly sure of the significance of the colors, some ghost hunters speculate it may have to do with the amount of time the spirit has been earth bound. On the same note, some speculate the shapes are of different types of spirits. A popular theory is that round orb are human spirits and polygonal orbs are elementals. I’m not sure how I feel about either theory, I haven’t yet conducted my own experiments on them. I’m generally skeptical of orb photographs. There are to many environmental factors that can produce orb photos and give you a false positive.
Q6.How do i take a picture in (ordsall) hall? I have seen loads (of psychic photos) but i don’t no how to get (the photos) on a pc.
I have never personally been to Ordsall Hall, so I am not sure how you would get in to take pictures. The great people at Ghost Watch UK (http://www.ghostwatchuk.org/) would probably know more about that than I do. They are right there in England. As far as getting your pictures on your PC, It all depends on the format of the pictures. If you use a digital camera, included with the camera is some software and a cable to connect the camera to the PC for photo downloading. You’ll have to consult the owner’s manual for the specifics of that camera’s operation. Actual photos are slightly different. You have to “scan” them using a computer peripheral called a scanner. You can pick up a scanner at your local computer store for fairly cheap. Prices generally range from sub-$100 to more than you care to spend. Once you have the scanner, operation is pretty simple. Included with the scanner is a scanning program that will scan the photo and save it to any file name you choose for archiving on your PC.
Q7.I was wanting to know what you guys recommend. I was looking at the Cell Sensor EMF finder and the ElectroSensor. Have you used any of these. If so which one is better. Thanks a lot.
I have had some good results using the CellSensor, it is slightly more expensive but offers much more flexibility and accuracy in judging readings, and in my opinion is better quality than the ElectroSensor. If you have the extra money to spend I recommend the CellSensor, however, the ElectroSensor is a good alternative for a ghosthunter on a budget. Q8.I’ve been researching a haunted house in my area; lots of family members have experienced all kinds of haunting activity. My question is: all family members, especially on the mother’s side, experience all kinds of hauntings in their homes, and they live in different houses, in different states. What are some of the possible answers to account for just about everyone in the same family to end up in haunted situations?
There can be a number of reasons why it appears one side of the family is haunted. For openers, we have to remember that not only are houses haunted, but objects can be and in some cases, people themselves can be haunted. (It’s the old people, places and things clichéThere is the possibility that there is a generational curse at work here, although I am not really sure that I believe in them. The jury is still out on that one so to speak. A second possibility is that someone from a past generation dabbled, or actually was more serious about occultic practices and the rest of the family, the innocents are paying the price. The third possibility is that that side of the family may have stronger than usual natural “psychic” abilities. There is considerable evidence that shows a genetic link when it comes to psychic abilities. In many instances, that ability becomes stronger with each generation. Of course, the opposite happens if each generation denies those abilities.
Q9.Good Morning, My husband and I have been taking ghost photos since 1995.We do have some interesting things on film. We bought a sony camcorder w/nightshot super night shot, about 2months we tried it out at a local cemetery and got one thing shooting accross. Last night we went to cemetery I been wanting to go for a while.We were quite surprised to see alot more on video at least 12 different things shooting across. Our question is this. What should we be looking for? Or what have you experienced in video? Please bare with me as I describe what we saw. Almost like a shooting star but right in front of us,some were arching ,You could see where they started and ended.also john saw this has it happened a white mass from the bottom coming up arch and go back down the the bottom corner very fast.Everything we saw on video had long trails to them. We did manage to get a bug in the beginning and when we froze the frame it was just a dark spot, not white with a trail like the rest.
Wow ! Sounds like you have some wonderful footage there. Short of an apparition walking around that is exactly what you should be looking for. After establishing that they are not bugs, you’ll note they look a lot like what you photograph only moving. It is interesting because the night vision picks up a spectrum of light we cannot see as humans. While the night shot camcorder isn’t “night vision” in a traditional sense, it still seems to yield great results from haunted locations. I too, have gotten footage much like the shots you describe. Q10.I have seen and heard things before. I did for a long time, seem to see out of the corner of my eyes what appeared to be small, almost orb-like puffs of smoke, both dark and white colored, which seemed to float a few inches to a foot or more above the ground, in daytime. Perhaps my eyes were playng tricks, perhaps not. Could you comment?
Without knowing you personally it is tough to comment on the validity of what you experience. However, I will say what you are experiencing is common among people psychically sensitive. I had a personal experience with a friend who described the same thing to me, and stressed that he would see things out of his peripheral vision. That seems to be the biggest commonality. It would seem to me that you are a very sensitive person, and you maybe able to better fine tune your psychic ability.
Q11.what is grave dowsing?
Grave dowsing is much like water dowsing. When you dowse for water, you use a rod like instrument that bends down toward the earth when you are near an underground water supply. The same principal is true for grave dowsing, only you are searching for an unmarked grave rather than water. Q12.I have what you might call almost a 6th sense. Usually, I am quite comfortable with this. One time though, I was walking around a friends house, and I started crying, shaking, I was scared to death, paralyzed…I had to be carried out. I decided to research the history, only to find that nothing was recorded to have happened there, no murder, no death. Could it be that it might have been something that predated the records? Why did this wash of emotion come over me?
Projecting emotions is perhaps the most common way a spirit may communicate. Just because nothing “recorded” ever happened there doesn’t mean a spirit isn’t there. It could have been there for years and only tried to communicate when you came along. The spirit could have followed you looking for the right time to attempt communication. These scenarios are just a few possibilities of many, and probably has a lot to do with your sensitivity or 6th sense as you put it.
