Gettysburg for Ghosthunters

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

Vince Wilson at the Examiner gives a quick insight into Gettysburg travel for ghosthunters.  What can I say? I love Gettysburg for it’s war history and it’s haunted history.  I went a few years ago with my girlfriend and we had an amazing time.  There is so much to see and so many stories to hear.  I think you can go on tour over and over again and walk away with something different each time.  Even those not inclined to celebrate history will be more than fascinated by breadth and scope of the Battle of Gettysburg.

For the ghosthunter, Gettysburg offers some of the best places to gather evidence.  While Mr. Wilson rightly warns that the National Park is closed at night, there is certainly no shortage of places to investigate.  Oh, and before you go, be sure to read The Killer Angels by Michael Sharaa.

A Haunting in Connecticut

Sunday, March 1st, 2009

Finally, after all of the reruns of the dramatization on Discovery Channel, it looks like “In a Dark Place” has made it to the big screen.  The original book, In a Dark Place, by Ray Garton (and Ed and Lorraine Warren) attempted to tell the story of Al and Carmen Snedecker with an “Amityville-esqu” plot.  However, as Ray Garton states in an interview with Amityville Horror debunker, Ric Osuna, Al and Carmen could not get their stories straight and was suspicious of the authenticity of the haunting.

I tend to give Ray Garton the benefit of the doubt, as Ed and Lorraine have had credibility issues in the past.  I’m not sure whether the story was completely embellished or not, but, I am sure that it was exaggerated.  I’m looking forward to the movie though, because I tend to enjoy supernatural horror more than blood and guts gore.  You can check out the trailers at http://hauntinginconnecticut.com.

I wonder if John Zaffis will play John Zaffis?

Burglar held at bay by Ghost

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008

Now, this is the type of burglar alarm I’d like to have! According to CBS News on Dec. 13:

A news report says a burglar who broke into a house claims he was held captive by a “supernatural figure” for three days without food and water.

Too bad the ghost couldn’t call the Police or at least rough him up a bit…
