R.I.P. Hans Holzer

Pioneering paranormal investigator Hans Holzer has died at his home in New York City on April, 26 2009. Mr. Holzer was 89.

Hans Holzer’s books populate the occult section at many book sellers, and to me, should be considered one of the forefathers of paranormal investigations. While many have come before him, Mr. Holzer pioneered modern paranormal investigation.

Checking back later, we felt extremely lucky to also record orbs going down the stairs and then turning around and going back up, followed by another orb. In the audio there is the little girl’s giggle. An amazing photo was to come from this part of the investigation and we send it along to you. Is it just shadows on a cold night? Or could it be a spirit child? We will leave it up to you.

Ghosthunters Mugged

We always joked that it’s the live people you have to worry about. Going out to dark, desolate haunted places in the middle of the night can certainly be dangerous. I can recall one such instance at a local cemetery where I witnessed two men running past the cemetery at about 2 o’clock in the morning. A few minutes later the Police came and asked if we had seen anyone. Of course, we said “they went thataway” as we pointed down the road. The police went on to tell us the two men were armed robbery suspects fleeing the scene of the crime. We were lucky, but according to the Providence Journal, these guys were not:

Teenagers looking for ghosts at the abandoned Ladd School got a real-life encounter when five young men carrying axes, clubs, knives and BB guns took their money, cell phones and credit cards, according to the state police.

Remember, when going out ghosthunting, there’s strength in numbers. However, when you come across axe wielding muggers, this will do, of course, so will this:

A grenade launcher is a great deterrent for would-be attackers

Ghost hunters find evidence of the circumstantial kind

Here’s some ground breaking journalism for ya’
Paranormal Investigators and some professors investigated a reportedly haunted section of their college. Great! What did they find? Circumstantial Evidence. I guess they can rest easy now.

Out with the old, in with the new

End of the year already. It seems 2008, as turbulent as it was, flew by me. A Presidential election, a crashing economy, a bad Yankee team, improvement in Iraq…where did the time all go?

As rough as 2008 was, Ghosthound.com had a great year with the release of our new website. With that, we expect 2009 to be a fun filled, action packed, ghost hunting extravaganza. Beyond the unemployment numbers and our 401Ks, ghost hunting still remains relatively inexpensive. The one prohibitive cost, gas, is as cheap as its been in a long time. That’s good news for us, and the green ghost hunting machine.

Speaking of out with the old, it struck me that Ghosthound.com is nearly a decade old! Here’s a screen shot from the past:

Christmas Miracle

An amazing story of divine intervention. According to Atlanta’s NBC 11 news, surveillance cameras at a Charlotte Hospital captured what appeared to be an Angel outside the hospital room of a young girl that had just removed from life support.

The Angel appeared nearly an hour after life support had been removed from young Chelsea. According to Colleen, Chelsea’s mom, Chelsea almost immediately showed an improvement after the angel’s visit.

This a great story, and I am a firm believer in diving intervention. I’ve had too many close calls not to believe that their are gaurdian angels out there watching over us.
